I was running a D&D game for some newer players the other day, and I listed off a few spells that the cleric could take, one of which was “Animate Dead”. One of my players misheard it as “Anime Dead”, and I immediately decided that it needed to be a real thing.
Hey, I’m Ricky I make comics about a bunch of random things, but one of my favorite topics is D&D since it’s a huge part of my life. What about at dead the spell that pings a undead creature, and allows you to send a message to them?
“In the name of the Moon, I’ll eat your brains!”
“Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows…”
“We get it, you’re casting Delayed Fireball”
sending this to my DM right now lol
Fighting adventures by moonlight.
Skel-Akiiiirrraaaaaaaa!
Why do i see Papyrus in the last frame??
Bro that’s like a 10th level spell. iirc correctly sailor moon is one if the most OP characters out there
Edit: [yeah lol, literally multiversal level](https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Sailor_Moon_(Universe)). So basically a god
That panel-placememt is just so goddamn clever i love it. 🙂
The best part about this is that it works alphabetically
I call op on that spell! imagine someone summoning goku or one punch man! :’D
r/overlord
Papyrus was cosplaying Sailor Moon, he just lost the wig
Necromancer master saaaa~aaaaaaan!!!
Summons the ginyu force….
The anime skeleton would be a much more overpowered and dangerous adversary than the standard spearman skeleton anyhow….
In the name of death I’ll punish you
I always wondered, is there any consensus or authoritative source on whether the “animate” in “Animate Dead” is a verb (as in the caster is “animating” dead bodies with magic) or an adjective (as in the opposite of “inanimate”)? The verb and the adjective are pronounced differently ([see Wiktionary’s pronunciation on the word](https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/animate#English)), and I’ve heard it both ways from players.
Shambling Moon
uwu I’m a skewwyton! Kawaiiiii!!!
I see the Ring of the Grammarian is being put to good use!
this … this is better
Hold up. That is a 10th Level Necromancy Spell. As there is no way Turn Undead will even work. Already (un)naturally immune to Fear Effect, granted 10 points immunity to all Spell Elements, and all actions are Free Actions.
If you get the 12th level Necromancy Spell, you can summon a whole team. Which by written law in the book. You have to do poses to summon each of the Undead Party Members (Up to 5) you want. Physical. And without embarrassment. If you cannot. The DM rolls a random effect and it may not go pretty for you. Or it could go great! Though high likelihood the Undead Party may just up and leave after being summoned. Pose you fool! Pose on the BBEG!!
….you know what? I am starting to like this idea.
Hmm… Did you love The black caldron as much as I did as a kid, or am I mistaken?
Hmm, anime dead has better posture and a potential magical girl transformation.
I’m working on a campaign and I’m adding a weapon called the ‘Singing Sword of Taypo’.
When it’s called by its wrong name, it stays normal damage sword that sings Disco Inferno.
If my players figure out the mistake and call the sword by its correct name, it will start doing fire damage.
It’s actually called The Singeing Sword.
Zombie land saga
This is one of the most clever titles I’ve ever seen.
That and the book of nekomancer
Nice touch with the somatic component.
Gentle Repost!
Wouldnt mind *bone*ing her
You went with Sailor Moon?!? We have a perfectly good skeleton anime character in the form of Ainz Ooal Gown and you went with Sailor Moon!
Like the Mind Silver?
I’me dead
Nice
Love it!!!
Sailor Momonga
Question: Would you need to cast animate dead before creating your anime dead? Or are they separate things? Brought to you by your local rules lawyer.
Well, I know what my next Necromancer build is gonna do now.
And then there’s anima dead which just turns a corpse into a bear
No you just create Tokyo Ghouls
Sexy jutsu
If you use the fiend summoning spells in that book you’re gonna get Devilman and Nosferatu Zodd
