Lando just absolutely nailed that post-red flag strategy. If he couldn’t overtake Leclerc immediately, he would have been 5th or 6th. If he couldn’t hold out against Leclerc and Hamilton for so long he would have also been 4th or 5th. But he did both without a mistake. By this point Lando has proved himself enough that I think nobody should doubt him anymore.

Side note, I’m new here from NASCAR and I am blown away by the on screen information via in depth graphics. The one they overlay in the halo is absolutely incredible. Playing F1 2020 pulled me in to watching F1 and I’m so happy it did

Feel bad for Leclerc with this one. He was literally 2nd by like 20 seconds when the red flag came in. He easily could have got a podium or even 2nd in the race without that.

Hats off to Ferrari today.
They got everything right, the wing work planned for Friday ahead of today’s rain, on intermediates in the first phase of the race (the 34 laps before Bottas and Russel’s accident) they were tremendously faster than McLaren, Lec with a gap of 26 seconds on Norris and Sainz who, despite his mistakes, kept getting closer to Ricciardo.
Without the red flag, Ferrari would have taken the 2nd position.

It looks like out of the 3 2019 rookies, Lando will be the one surviving! Hope he keeps this level. Quite fun how people wrote him off in the pre season, that RIC would mop the floor with him, but he is delivering.

Lewis recovered really well. Super blessed.
Hope Checo gets better for the next races or I’ll be getting Albon/Gasly flashes.

McLaren ordered Riccardo to let Norris past and then Landon just fucking blasted him. They definitely have enough pace for both drivers to steadily be top 5 but Danny needs to settle in.

Hamilton is an awesome driver, but, damn, he’s so lucky. From almost out of the race to second. While Leclerc, 2nd with 25 secs on the 3rd before the red flag, ended out of the podium.

Fantastic drive from lando and Lewis, I know lando got driver of the day but you cannot take anything away from Lewis, what a recovery.
Max did exactly what a champion does, very reminiscent of Lewis for the last few years.
Sorry George, it is a difficult call to make to who was at fault but I agree with toto it was a 60/40 and I do believe if you go for a punt you have to be ready to accept the consequences. It makes it even harder to call going onto the wet side but I don’t believe bottas squeezed at all.
Great race, great great great race.
Shout out to Ferrari as well, good haul of points.

Solid race from Max, the start was awesome. Poor Perez though. And Leclerc, getting it all back mentally after the spin in formation lap is not an easy task. So kudos to him too.

Hamilton went from P9 to P2 in the second half of the race.
Bottas was stuck in P9 and being overtaken by a Williams.

I have a couple of hot takes but first I have to say Norris was ON FIRE. So yes
1. I don’t understand why people are blaming Mazepin for the Latifi accident when it wasn’t his fault in any way. Also no one is mocking Mick for what happened but if it was Mazepin people would go crazy.
2. I really think Tsunoda is showing his immaturity this weekend. The frankly over the top reactions over the radio, the unnecessary spin yesterday and him being warned about track limits verbally, with the white/black flag and him continuing to do it which obviously led to the penalty. Something about him is off to me
