Head of the Samara region Fedorishchev: 10 RPL teams are involved in corruption
Governor of the Samara Region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated about the multimillion-dollar debt of the Russian Premier League (RPL) club Krylya Sovetov, allegedly for bribes to judges.
Fedorishchev learned about the debt of the Samara team from one of the functionaries who came to him two months ago.
He said: “Vyacheslav Andreevich, you are counting the debts for “Wings”. “We have another debt – it’s about 36 million rubles.” I asked him: “What for?” He said, “You know, I can’t tell you because it’s a crime.” He finally told me. And it turned out that “Wings of the Soviets” owed 36 million rubles to unnamed, apparently criminals
The Samara governor called for an end to funding the corrupt system, which, according to him, has existed in the judiciary for the last few years.
10 Premier League clubs may be involved in the scheme
Fedorishchev reported the situation to the Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev. Also after the meeting, sports director of the “Wings of the Soviets” club Sergei Kornilenko was firedand the club’s management was suspended from work.

“Unfortunately, in the judiciary, where wonderful professionals, strong and very respected experts work, there are still those people who discredit it by engaging in corruption. Apparently, this system has been working for the last few years, and we have all conditionally agreed with it; we allow clubs and regional leaders to coordinate such decisions, if not make them,” the governor noted.
According to him, about ten RPL clubs with a turnover of 500 million rubles are involved in the corruption scheme. “All we need to do is stop allocating funding to these teams that are participating in this. There are not many of them, about ten of them in the major league. Of course, others have this too,” he said.

At the same time, Fedorishchev noted that there are no facts to contact law enforcement officers. “These are conversations that are structured in such a way that there is no opportunity to go anywhere,” stated He.
However, we cannot remain silent about this, the governor is convinced. He called on the authorities to fight corruption in Russian football and asked other governors to support his initiative.

RPL responded to Fedorishchev’s statement
Head of RPL Alexander Alaev commented words of the governor, calling on them to be taken seriously. Alaev noted that the league has already carried out the necessary work and formulated proposals for greater transparency in the work of the judiciary.
The League, more than anyone else, is interested in studying the information available to the governor about corruption, since such cases have a direct impact on the quality of our product and the reputation of all football entities
In the Russian Football Union (RFU) stated about constant contact with the leadership of the Samara region. At the same time, the organization is ready to provide full assistance in establishing the truth. “We believe that the facts set out in the governor’s statement about the request for funding for corruption purposes are grounds for contacting law enforcement agencies,” the RFU said.
