Employees Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia resumed investigation of a criminal case about those who disappeared 20 years ago in Krasnoyarsk children.
Five schoolchildren disappeared in April 2005, three weeks later their charred remains were found in a sewer in a vacant lot. At the time, law enforcement considered the incident to be an accident, but now it was decided to resume the investigation.
The case is handled in the central office of the department. So far, law enforcement officials have not disclosed details of the investigation.
Parents are sure that no one wanted to look for the missing
Five children between the ages of 10 and 12 disappeared on April 16, 2005. Maxim TaumanovAlexander Lavrenko, Dmitry MakarovSafar Aliyev and Galash Mamedgasanov studied at the same school and lived not far from each other. After the school cleanup, they asked their parents to go for a walk.
“When my son came home, he asked permission to go for a walk with his friend Sasha Lavrenko. Some kind of bad feeling flashed through me. But he let me go,” he said. RIA Novosti father of ten-year-old Maxim Evgeny Taumanov.
After unsuccessful attempts to find the schoolchildren on their own, the parents contacted the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to Evgeniy Taumanov, law enforcement officers believed that the children would appear on their own after they had “walked up.” The child’s father is convinced that no one wanted to look for the missing people.
The school was located almost on the outskirts of the city, behind it were the railway, the private sector and a huge wasteland. Leaflets with photographs of the missing were posted around the city; hundreds of people came out to search, but this did not yield any results. It is noted that the children were from prosperous families, were not registered and studied well.
The schoolchildren were accidentally found by scrap metal collectors
May 8 to the police contacted townspeople who made a living by collecting scrap metal. They said that in search of “prey” they passed through a vacant lot and came across a sewer – it was covered on top with a wooden pallet for bricks and a car tire. Going down, the men made a terrible discovery: at the bottom were charred fragments of children’s bodies.

According to Evgeny Taumanov, the boys’ parents insisted on an examination of Moscowhowever, it was made in Krasnoyarsk. “Experts came to the conclusion that a fire occurred at the bottom of the collector due to a large amount of accumulated gas and the children burned in just a few seconds. But what were they doing there? — the man wondered.
But they could not organize a DNA examination to determine who the remains belonged to. They were subsequently sent to UKbut the results were not reported to the family. After the parents set up a tent camp near the collector in protest in September 2006 and went on a hunger strike, the remains were returned to them – six bags. The contents were put into bags and everyone was buried nearby.
Parents conducted their own investigation
Some parents conducted their own investigation with the help of journalists. Several years ago, they were called to the Investigative Committee, saying that new circumstances had come to light, so the case was reopened.

The children’s relatives are convinced that if law enforcement officers had not wasted time, the criminals could have been found. “The children were killed. And in another place, they burned the bodies and dumped the remains into a sewer. But, apparently, at that time someone really didn’t want to deal with this story,” emphasized Evgeniy Taumanov.
Now the criminal case is being investigated by the central office of the Investigative Committee. No details have been revealed yet. The parents of the victims do not lose hope that the case will be solved.
