Deputy of Bessarab: some pensioners will receive a double pension in December
Some Russian pensioners in December will receive payments immediately for January. Procedure for payments in the next two months explained deputy State Duma Svetlana Bessarab.
She clarified that those who are given a pension at the beginning of the month (from the 3rd to the 8th) will receive double payments in December, since these dates are holidays in January. They will receive the next payment in February, the deputy specified.
Those whose pensions arrive at a later date every month will receive accruals according to the usual schedule.
“The absolute majority of us receive payments from the 3rd to the 8th. But those who receive it later, they will simply receive it on their day,” Bessarab concluded.
Pensions will be indexed according to inflation
Previously to be specifiedthat from January 1, 2025, the amount of the old-age insurance pension will be indexed by 7.3 percent, which corresponds to the inflation rate projected for the end of 2024. Its average size will be 24.1 thousand rubles.
Head of Analytics Department, Platforma Sergey Lysakov reminded that insurance pensions must be indexed at least once a year to a level not lower than the inflation rate.
From April 1st they will be indexed social pensions – by 14.75 percent, the average amount will be 15.5 thousand rubles. The old-age social pension will be 8824.08 rubles.
In February 2025, pensions will be indexed to working pensioners for the first time in nine years. It will be recalculated automatically. And pensioners over 80 years of age will start receive an increase of 1200 rubles. This will happen automatically, and the amount is planned to be indexed every year.
The State Duma named categories of citizens applying for a pension above 50 thousand rubles
Previously Svetlana Bessarab explainedthat in Russia there are no restrictions on the maximum pension amount.
For example, cosmonauts, Heroes of Russia, and combat veterans can apply for payments above 50 thousand rubles if they have two pensions, the deputy said. She explained that disabled people of the Great Patriotic War, its participants, and combat veterans are entitled to two pensions – a military pension and an old-age insurance pension.
“In addition, of course, high pensions can be received by those who had high wages throughout their entire working career, for whom the employer paid large contributions. You need to be sure that you have worked officially all your life and received a salary that is at least above the current average. In general, now everyone can go into their personal account and calculate what kind of pension they have and how long they still have to work, roughly speaking, up to 50,” Bessarab shared.
