The Ministry of Finance of Abkhazia reported a shortage of funds for salaries due to the stoppage of Russian aid

IN Abkhazia arose financial difficulties after stopping aid to Russia. The energy crisis in the republic is intensifying every day. What other difficulties Sukhum faced, said the acting head of the Ministry of Finance of the republic, Vladimir Delba.

Thus, after Sukhum refused an investment agreement with Moscowelectricity supplies to the republic are made at commercial prices. Due to the fact that Abkhazia does not have enough finances to cover its existing debts to Russia, budgetary organizations and their employees suffer the most.

First of all, Delba drew attention to law enforcement agencies. According to him, now the security bloc is without funding: without wages and other mandatory expenses provided for by law. He noted that funds may also not be enough for social obligations such as social benefits and medical services.

If we continue to consolidate our efforts to find funds to purchase electricity, then we should probably boldly say that we will not pay wages

Abkhazia faces 16-hour blackouts

On December 5, the head of Chernomorenergo Timur Dzhindzholia at a meeting with the acting president of the republic Badra Gunba stated about the risks of blackouts in the country. According to him, without the flow of electricity from Russia, Abkhazia could remain without electricity for up to 16 hours a day.

Abkhazia receives three million kilowatt-hours from the Inguri hydroelectric station, which is a third of total consumption. Thus, according to calculations, if the republic remains only powered by the Ingur HPP, then the country will have seven to eight hours of electricity per day, and the rest of the time it will be de-energized.

In turn, Gunba summarized that without the financial support that Abkhazia received from Russia, the situation would be “extremely difficult to maintain.”
