The Investigative Committee announced evidence in the Murdiev case after criticism of Kadyrov

IN Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reacted to criticize the chapter Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov because of the case of 14-year-old Muslim (Roman) Murdiev, who is accused of attacking passers-by. As part of the criminal case of hooliganism, law enforcement officers took the necessary measures to establish the circumstances of the incident, as well as the persons involved. This was reported by the official representative of the RF IC Svetlana Petrenko.

According to her, the investigation learned of a conspiracy between five teenagers who beat passers-by. One of the suspected youths provoked the victim by entering into a verbal altercation with her, after which he became the instigator of the fight. At that moment, other teenagers watched the beatings and gave advice on how to strike. In some cases, all five took part in fights.

One of the most notorious cases of beating occurred in September 2023, when five teenagers seriously beat eight people, including seven minors. All attacks were organized on the territory of Moscow shopping centers. The actions of the teenagers were qualified under Part 2 of Article 213 (“Hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”) of the Criminal Code RF. Video recordings of the fights also served as evidence.

The Russian Human Rights Council called on Kadyrov to remember the unity of law in all subjects of the country

Member of the Human Rights Council (HRC) of Russia Eva Merkacheva noticedthat Ramzan Kadyrov’s criticism of the head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexandra Bastrykina and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev sounds strange. She stated that in Russia there is a unity of law that should not be forgotten.

It seems that if you ask questions to the head of the entire Investigative Committee of Russia and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, you must proceed from the fact that you yourself clearly stand on the position of the rule of law, that it is indiscriminate in our country. We have a single country, a single criminal code. The same right must be defended for everyone. I would like to remind you of this

Merkacheva admitted that Kadyrov’s harsh statement could be supported by real violations in the case of 14-year-old Murdiev, who is currently under house arrest. However, the official noted that criticism from the head of Chechnya, where violations are also regularly recorded in the security forces, appears unfounded.

She recalled that the Chechen prosecutor's office has still not provided information about the whereabouts of Seda Suleymanova, whose murder case was opened by regional investigators. On progress in the investigation of the attack on journalist Elena Milashina and a lawyer Alexandra Nemova in Chechnya, too, nothing is known yet, the HRC member concluded.

FSB colonel in reserve appreciated Kadyrov's criticism of the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs

FSB reserve colonel Andrey Pinchuk appreciated criticism of Ramzan Kadyrov towards the Investigative Committee and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The former Minister of State Security of the DPR noted that the statements of the head of the region went beyond the law.

“He, as the head of the subject, cannot evaluate the work of law enforcement agencies or interfere in it. This is strictly prohibited. Moreover, there is even liability – both administrative and criminal – for interference in law enforcement activities,” the specialist expressed his point of view.

Pinchuk added that earlier, during an interview with the head of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights Valery Fadeev Chechnya has been called a region whose peculiarities require getting used to. Such provocative statements, in his opinion, could well lead to criticism from the Chechen authorities.

At the same time, Pinchuk clarified that the last word in this situation will still remain with the head of state Vladimir Putinwhich will consider Kadyrov’s statements from the point of view of Russian law.
