The coach of the Russian cross-country skiing team, Yegor Sorin, said that he did not expect Natalia Terentyeva to return to competition in December 2024.
“I didn’t make any plans in this regard at all, because in this regard everything is very individual. Some people recover quickly, others don’t. Natasha, fortunately, did not have any force majeure, so now she is performing just fine. Although we didn’t expect, to be honest, that she would start racing at the end of December,” Sorin said in an interview with RT.
According to him, Terentyeva’s experience can help him at the moment when Veronica Stepanova returns to competitions. The skier is currently expecting the birth of her child.
“As a coach, this is also a certain additional experience for me. Next year, when Veronica Stepanova returns, I will keep in mind that in the third month after giving birth, the body is more or less ready for the load,” added Sorin.
