The FSB exposed a criminal network of call centers that deceived residents of 50 countries

The FSB stopped the work of an international network of call centers that deceived residents of 50 countries. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Public Relations Center of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

According to the department, the network acted in the interests of the former Minister of Defense of Georgia and founder of the Milton Group company, David Kazerashvili. The call centers were part of a criminal community that, under the guise of making investment transactions, was engaged in fraud.

It is noted that about 100 thousand people from 50 countries were affected by the network’s activities, including citizens of the European Union, Great Britain, Canada, Brazil, India and Japan. The scammers' income reached one million dollars a day.

Security forces have already detained one of the managers of call centers operating in Russia. He turned out to be a citizen of Israel and Ukraine. The second leader is wanted; he is a citizen of Israel and Georgia. In 2022, on instructions from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), they organized the dissemination of anonymous reports about impending terrorist attacks in Moscow, Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod. A total of 11 managers and employees of Russian call center offices were detained.

A case was initiated under Article 210 (“Organization of a criminal community”), Part 4 of Article 159 (“Fraud on an especially large scale”) and Part 3 of Article 207 (“Knowingly false report of an act of terrorism”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

Previously FSB warnedthat unfriendly countries, including Ukraine, are increasingly trying to involve Russians in committing illegal actions.
