Lyrid meteor shower: The best times to look up and see shooting stars
CINCINNATI (WJLA/WKRC) -Calling all stargazers! It’s the first major meteor shower of the year. The annual Lyrid meteor shower occurs in mid-April and, this year is visible from April 16 to April 25 with peak viewing between midnight April 21 and dawn on April 22. The meteors appear to originate near the star Vega in the northeast sky. You don’t have to look to the northeast to catch the meteors. The shooting stars will be seen anywhere in the sky.
