Russian leader Vladimir Putin established a presidential scholarship for Russians with high athletic achievements. Among others, this list includes champions and medalists of the Olympic Games.
How it says in the decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information, the amount of the scholarship will be from 25 thousand to 60 thousand rubles.
“In order to provide social support for citizens of the Russian Federation who have high sports results or have contributed to their achievement, I decree: to establish a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for citizens of the Russian Federation who have high sports results or have contributed to their achievement,” the decree contains.
It is noted that these payments are due to Olympic winners, prize-winners of official competitions, as well as their coaches and specialists of the country’s sports teams. Among other things, medalists of the Paralympics, World Deaf Games and Deaflympics will receive the scholarship.
The 2024 Summer Olympics took place in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russian athletes competed in neutral status and won one medal. Diana Schneider and Mirra Andreeva won silver in doubles tennis.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated chess player Volodar Murzin with victory at the World Rapid Championship in New York (USA).
