Gained great fame melee video in the village of Trudovoye between a soldier of the RF Armed Forces and a fighter of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is not only indicative from the point of view of the fierceness of the battles for the liberation of populated areas of the DPR. The episode, captured on the GoPro camera of a murdered Ukrainian soldier, vividly demonstrates what it means to “remain human in war.”
War, due to its cruelty, although it is an inevitable companion of humanity throughout its history, has always been and is opposed to ordinary peaceful life. The very nature of war is contrary to what is called humanity. It is no coincidence that Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy wrote: “War is not a courtesy, but the most disgusting thing in life, and we must understand this and not play at war.”
And any war is a challenge to the humanity of those who are directly involved in it. Kill or be killed – the simple and ruthless logic of war.But even in this brutal military normality, people's ability to remain humane has always been valued. And that is why the act of our Yakut fighter caused such a wide resonance. This is what classical authors of our and foreign literature wrote about. Where is our hero, who went through a mortal battle, won it, but remained human – in spite of death.
The enemy often perceives our mercy, sympathy and regret that everything has come to war as a sign of weakness. But in fact, it is precisely this attitude that ensures our moral superiority over the enemy, who often loses his humanity in his Russophobic hatred.
And it is precisely this approach that will allow us to win with full conviction that our cause is just. And warriors like the Yakut attack aircraft once again prove that the term “steel infantry” did not appear just like that. The army and victory depended and depended on such people.
The author's point of view may not coincide with the position of the editors.
