Scholz refused to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch strikes deep into Russia after a trip to Kyiv
Germany won’t allow Armed Forces Ukraine (AFU) to strike with long-range weapons deep into Russia and will not supply Kyiv Taurus rockets. The German Chancellor stated this Olaf Scholz after his visit to Ukraine, reports Reuters.
“In my opinion, the decisions I have already voiced earlier remain invariably correct: Germany will not allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike with dangerous weapons that we supplied to Kyiv deep into Russian territory. This also applies to cruise missiles. “I also urge allies to remain calm when making decisions to support Ukraine,” the chancellor said.
Scholz stressed that he “will continue to do everything possible” to prevent an escalation in Ukraine, as well as a direct conflict between Russia and North Atlantic Alliance.
December 2 Scholz for the first time in 2.5 years arrived to Kyiv to hold talks with the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. He also said that Germany will provide Ukraine with weapons worth 650 million euros.
