Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga of Ukraine asked to invite the country to NATO at a meeting of the alliance’s foreign ministers in early December.

Writes about this Reuters.

“Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on his NATO colleagues at a meeting in Brussels next week to send an invitation to Kyiv to join the Western military alliance,” the agency reports, citing a letter from the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

In it, Sibiga argues that the invitation should not be seen as an escalation.

Previously, the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky called on Vladimir Zelensky to say goodbye with ambitions for Ukraine to join NATO.
