LOL. **The book is being published by Post Hill Press, a small independent that specialises in “conservative politics” and Christian titles**. Simon and Schuster doesn’t have to distribute *anything* by presses like this. It’s probably really common that they don’t, but this is a very public topic.

Crazy. They lied, killed an innocent person, tried to frame an innocent person, and got away with no punishment. Now he’s suing to try and make money off the person he framed and the sell books about the execution of the innocent person.

This guy is the biggest piece of shit

Who is going to actually buy this guy’s book and read it? The fact that anyone not related to him would is frankly kind of insane to me.

Edit: since I don’t feel like replying individually, my point is that this random cop is not even a known figure for 99.9% of the country and the book, even if super racist, would be an extremely boring read even for racists… so why is this a book? It could be accomplished in an article. Even if you are a racist cop, why would you need or want to read this entire BOOK?

An innocent woman is dead and this asshole sued her partner for defending himself from bullets in the dark. Now he wants to make book money by playing victim. Actual human garbage.

ETA: *Too innocent to warrant an at-home death penalty followed by a cover-up attempt*. I wasn’t asking if any of you personally judged the slain woman to be the second coming of christ. I should not have to add this explanation, but here we are.

He can already tell his side of things via social media to anyone who cares enough to hear it. A major publisher doesn’t have to help him make money doing it.

    Edited for words.

“In the case of Sgt Mattingly, the mainstream media narrative has been entirely one-sided related to this story and we feel that he deserves to have his account of the tragic events heard publicly, as well,” she told the New York Times. “Post Hill Press is standing behind our decision to publish his story.”

You mean the tragic events he directly caused when he shot an unarmed woman in her bed? Lmao

This headline should read Simon and Schuster backtrack on distributing book by unrepentant man about the innocent woman he killed after Twitter uproar. Why do companies never make these so obvious decisions on their own?

Why tf would he write a book? Seems like really trashy opportunism.

Read the article. The shooter feels that the media narrative has been one sided and his side of the story was not told.

This is because there was never a trial. It was unjustly blocked by the prosecutor/grand jury, to protect the shooter. That’s why his side of the story wasn’t told. It was for his benefit, and to the victim’s detriment, and now he is complaining about it.

Not sure I’d give them too much credit for this move given that they don’t seem to have an issue distributing other books from that publisher, whose authors include people like [Laura Loomer](https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Loomered/Laura-Loomer/9781642935677) and [Matt Gaetz](https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Firebrand/Congressman-Matt-Gaetz/9781642937640), along with [plenty of other far-right victim-porn titles](https://www.simonandschuster.com/search/books/_/N-/Ntt-bombardier?Nao=0) (Bombardier is an imprint of Post Hill Press). Seems like they’re just avoiding negative press rather than making any ideological stand.
