Retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko said that Russian troops broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian military on another section of the front in the Kupyansky direction.
As he told RIA Novosti with reference to their sources, we are talking about an area north-west of the village of Myasyutovka in the Kharkov region.
“During the successful liberation actions, our advanced units managed to break through the enemy’s defensive line northwest of Myasyutovka and occupy more advantageous lines and positions,” Marochko said.
He also added that the penetration of the Ukrainian military into the defenses allowed the Russian Armed Forces to take under fire control about 2 km of the Dvurechnaya-Kupyansk highway – until recently, it was actively used by militants of the Kyiv regime.
As Marochko noted, the Ukrainian Armed Forces sent additional reserves to the area of the settlements of Figolevka, Dvurechnaya and Zapadnoe. With their help, the Ukrainian command hopes to regain lost positions in this sector of the front.
Earlier, Marochko said that until the complete liberation of the Lugansk People’s Republic from Ukrainian militants There are five settlements left to take.
