Former world boxing champion and State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev told how Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin unites all of Russia.
“I absolutely believe that Alexander will be able to break Gretzky’s record. We can say that in this way he unites all of Russia,” Valuev is quoted as saying. RIA Novosti.
He noted that he was impressed by Ovechkin’s behavior and his constancy of views.
On December 30, Ovechkin scored his 870th NHL goal. He closed the gap to 24 goals on Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring list.
It was previously reported that Ovechkin came out in first place on the list of Washington snipers in the current NHL season.
