Russian customs stopped allowing air conditioners and refrigerators into the country
Federal Customs Service (FTS) stopped to allow some household appliances that are popular among the country’s residents into Russia. The restrictions affected air conditioners, industrial and household refrigerators, writes “Kommersant”.
Starting from the middle of last month, the department began requesting licenses from suppliers of equipment with R-410 freon. This affected the freezing of part of the supply of these products. This decision of the Federal Customs Service is explained by the need to have a license Ministry of Industry and Trade for the import of equipment with the appropriate mixture in its composition.
Equipment stopped being supplied from all countries
According to the source, equipment supplied from all countries, including the CIS countries, was subject to restrictions. As the General Director of the Eurasian Association of the Heating Systems Market clarified Igor Prudnikovdue to the current situation, since November 12, losses of air conditioner suppliers due to idle time of containers with equipment may amount to up to 300 million rubles.
In October, the Ministry of Natural Resources website published a requirement to obtain licenses for the import of equipment with refrigerant mixtures. According to air conditioner manufacturers, before this, the customs service did not request licenses for this equipment – this only concerned the freon itself. However, obtaining the appropriate license takes at least 45 days. You can get around the requirement by draining the freon from the equipment before going through customs – then it can be refilled on Russian territory. “However, this increases the supplier’s overhead costs,” said the director of the Climate Industry Association Dmitry Kuzin.
The situation may affect the cost of goods
If the situation does not change in the near future, about 400 containers with equipment worth a total value of two billion rubles may be stuck in Chinese and Russian ports. This, in turn, can affect the cost of goods due to the fact that importers will be forced to include all costs incurred in the price for the end consumer.
It is possible that ultimately these restrictions will lead to the failure of the delivery of social facilities and strategic production enterprises, the source indicated.
Before this, Russians were warned about a significant increase in the price of household appliances from well-known manufacturers
At the end of last month, about an increase in prices for goods from retailers warned large foreign and Russian manufacturers of household appliances, such as Beko, Tefal, Kuppersberg and others. For example, the SEB-Vostok Group company, which produces goods under the Tefal, Rowenta and Krups brands, announced an increase in prices by an average of ten percent from the beginning of next year. They explained such measures by the rise in prices of components and logistics, as well as the increase in the cost of working capital.

As Kommensart wrote, the growth in value is primarily influenced by the key rate Central Bankexchange rates and logistics costs. A source among distributors, in turn, predicted that the cost of all consumer electronics could rise by more than 20 percent next month.
