Russian actor Yura Borisov nominated at the Golden Globe for her role in the acclaimed dramedy Anora. He became the first artist from Russia in history to receive a nomination for this prestigious American award.

Borisov will compete for the Golden Globe with famous Hollywood stars. Borisov shared the victory in the category “Best Supporting Actor” with Kieran Culkin, who received the award for his role in the film “Real Pain.” Thanks to this, both artists have increased their chances of being nominated for the main film award – the Oscar, which is presented by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In the summer, the film “Anora”, in which several Russian actors played the main roles, became winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Spectators applauded film for seven and a half minutes. At the same time, there was a standing ovation during the screening of the film.
